Who am I?

I am a translator and interpreter of Spanish, Galician, English and French.

I have been learning since a very young age to carry out this work. This training included language lessons, as well as t reading in all my working languages since I was little.

Likewise, I have undertaken stays in several countries (France, United Kingdom and Ireland), both to study and work, with the aim of getting to know in depth not only the language, but also the culture where the texts that I translate come from.

Once at University, I studied Translation and Interpreting. When I got my Bachelors Degree, I decided that I wanted to get even more in depth into Translation, that is why I enrolled the postgraduate as Expert in Translation and Interpreting, and I completed that process with a DEA (Diploma in Advance studies, prior to a thesis.)

As I have always been attracted by Interpreting and its communicative aspect and I have also been interested on the ideologies of discourse, I decided to extend my knowledge with a thesis that I am currently undertaking. I intend to find out whether interpreters reflect the ideology of the speaker they translate or if they modify it. Thanks to my findings I will be able to discard or support theories regarding neutrality and on how these professionals work.

A translator can never stop learning. In addition to working every day and improving my working languages, I also extend my knowledge on the issues that are unknown to me or those I work on every day, such as the legal and scientific. This is precisely one of the best features of my job, learning and extending knowledge with every text that I translate or conference that I interpret.
